The Head of UPT LKDPDEM UNDIP, Annastasia Ediati, S.Psi, M.Sc., Ph.D., stated that gender equality is not only about women, but also about ensuring equal rights and opportunities for everyone. “Gender equality is not only about women, but about giving everyone equal access and fair treatment,” she said.
In the first session, Dr. Laila Kholid Alfirdaus emphasized the importance of students’ roles in creating a safe campus environment. According to her, universities should become comfortable and inclusive spaces for all people. “Students need to speak up for gender equality so that campuses can become safe places free from discrimination and harassment,” she explained.
Next, Andrea Neysa Ardelia discussed the impact of gender discrimination on victims’ mental health. She explained that discrimination can leave long-lasting emotional scars. “As students, we should support victims by listening to their experiences and being there for them,” she said.
Meanwhile, Felicia Hestiawan highlighted the challenges faced by women in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM), especially in engineering fields. “Women in engineering still face many challenges, so courage, environmental support, and a more equal system are needed,” Felicia stated.
Through this seminar, students are expected to become more aware of the importance of gender equality and contribute to creating a more inclusive and comfortable campus environment for everyone. (UPT LKDPDEM Team)
