SEMARANG, konselingmahasiswa.undip.ac.id <\/strong>\u2013 In an effort to strengthen gender equality in education, UNDIP (Universitas Diponegoro) through the UPT LKDPDEM (UPT Layanan Konsultasi, Disabilitas, Penegakan Disiplin dan Etika Mahasiswa<\/em>) held a seminar titled \u201cSuara yang Setara: Menguatkan Peran Mahasiswa dalam Kesetaraan Gender di Dunia Pendidikan\u201d on Wednesday, May 6, 2026, at Prof. Darmanto Jatman, SU Hall, Faculty of Psychology 1st floor, UNDIP Tembalang Campus. The seminar aimed to increase students\u2019 awareness of the importance of gender equality in academic environments.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

The Head of UPT LKDPDEM UNDIP, Annastasia Ediati, S.Psi, M.Sc., Ph.D., stated that gender equality is not only about women, but also about ensuring equal rights and opportunities for everyone. \u201cGender equality is not only about women, but about giving everyone equal access and fair treatment,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

In the first session, Dr. Laila Kholid Alfirdaus emphasized the importance of students\u2019 roles in creating a safe campus environment. According to her, universities should become comfortable and inclusive spaces for all people. \u201cStudents need to speak up for gender equality so that campuses can become safe places free from discrimination and harassment,\u201d she explained.<\/p>\n

Next, Andrea Neysa Ardelia discussed the impact of gender discrimination on victims\u2019 mental health. She explained that discrimination can leave long-lasting emotional scars. \u201cAs students, we should support victims by listening to their experiences and being there for them,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Felicia Hestiawan highlighted the challenges faced by women in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM), especially in engineering fields. \u201cWomen in engineering still face many challenges, so courage, environmental support, and a more equal system are needed,\u201d Felicia stated.<\/p>\n

Through this seminar, students are expected to become more aware of the importance of gender equality and contribute to creating a more inclusive and comfortable campus environment for everyone.
